Let’s get acquainted with Simon Zirngibl: senior solutions engineer at Atlassian and speaker at Trinidad Wiseman’s Nordic Conference on Atlassian 2025
We are excited to welcome Simon Zirngibl, senior solutions engineer at Atlassian, as one of the featured speakers at Trinidad Wiseman’s Nordic Conference on Atlassian 2025. As a leading expert in Atlassian tools, Simon brings valuable knowledge and insight into how businesses can maximize the potential of Jira and Confluence to improve their IT service management (ITSM) processes.
Prior to the conference, we had the chance to ask Simon a few questions regarding his experience, the impact of Atlassian products in today’s work environments, and what attendees can look forward to in his presentation at the event.
Simon, could you tell us a bit about yourself and briefly describe your background?
I’m a senior solutions engineer at Atlassian. I’m based in Germany and have been with Atlassian for two years. Atlassian has played a role in my professional journey for over ten years. I started out as an admin and later transitioned into strategic consulting, as well as product and project management roles in the automotive industry.
What are you currently doing at Atlassian? Could you tell us more about your role as a senior solutions engineer?
As a senior solutions engineer, I serve as the technical expert on the customer’s account team. I help explore how our products and solutions can address specific business challenges and support strategic goals. I also ensure that our technology aligns with each customer’s unique needs and objectives.
What does a typical working day look like for you at Atlassian?
As a solutions engineer, I spend most of my time working with customers – guiding them through the System of Work, creating meaningful solutions, and assisting with technical questions. In addition, we advocate for customers’ needs internally by working closely with our product and engineering teams. We also operate as part of an account team, collaborating with account executives, customer success managers, and many others to provide the best possible support.
What’s your favorite part of the workday? Is there a particular task or moment you enjoy the most?
Collaborating with my colleagues. The team spirit at Atlassian is truly one of the best parts of the job.
Would you say your work at Atlassian is also your hobby, or do you maintain a clear distinction between work and personal interests?
While some of my colleagues have become good friends, maintaining a healthy work-life balance is an important part of Atlassian’s culture. It’s essential to disconnect from time to time in order to bring your best self to work.

The topic of your talk at our conference focuses on maximizing the potential of Atlassian tools for IT Service Management (ITSM). Could you tell us more about your session and what attendees can expect to learn from it?
Discover how Atlassian’s System of Work and Rovo empower high-velocity enterprise service management. Learn how integrated tools, smart automation, and cross-team collaboration enable seamless workflows – helping teams stay aligned and deliver meaningful outcomes across the organization.
With the increasing integration of AI in various business processes, how do you see artificial intelligence enhancing the functionality of Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence in the near future?
Fortunately, we don’t have to wait for the future to see the benefits. With Atlassian Intelligence and Rovo, we already have powerful tools that empower every team and maximize the value of Atlassian Cloud for our customers.
Can you share any memorable customer success stories where Atlassian tools had a significant impact on improving processes or outcomes?
There are many great success stories with Atlassian products, but one of my favorites is Mercedes-Benz. They migrated 30,000 users to Atlassian Cloud, enabling the company to deliver more with fewer resources – all while reducing maintenance and improving performance.
What do you hope attendees will take away from your session at Trinidad Wiseman’s Nordic Conference on Atlassian 2025? Are there any specific insights or strategies you’ll be focusing on?
I’ll be focusing on how the Atlassian System of Work, combined with our AI-powered tools, helps teams reach their goals and put an end to ineffective service management.
What do you do in your free time, and what are your hobbies? How do you unwind after a busy day at work?
I’m fortunate to live very close to the German Alps, where a quick hike is a great way to unwind after a busy day. I also enjoy travelling the world and discovering new cultures.
